Network Support and Communication, All Versions

-
For the "XiXcoin® Wallet" to communicate over a network, your network hardware router must support "UPnP" (Universal Plug and Play) and this setting must be set to "On" or "Enabled"; this is normally always on with standard devices. The "UPnP" function opens the ports required for the XiXcoin® Digital Currency transmission.
-
The "XiXcoin® Wallet" uses UDP Ports 31415 - 31420.
-
Usually most programs use TCP protocol ports; however, for speed purposes the "XiXcoin® Wallet" only uses the UDP protocol standard.
-
-
If you have a software OR a hardware firewall "On" or "Enabled", you must allow and open the specifically used ports of UDP 31415, 31416, 31417, 31418, 31419, and 31420 to be open for inbound traffic while the "XiXcoin® Wallet" program is in use.
-
The "XiXcoin® Wallet" uses a Mesh Networking with Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networking validation. If you observe network traffic while the "XiXcoin® Wallet" program is in use, your wallet is communicating with other user wallets and validating your transactions or their transactions. A typical single coin validation happens in less than one (1) to two (2) minutes.
-
If you wish to track network traffic and activity in Microsoft® Windows®, open a "Administrator Command Prompt" (terminal), at the command line enter "netstat -abo", then the Enter or Return Key.
-
The PID number will be the assigned program process number; the associated application name using the PID number can be obtained from the task manager by pressing the "Control+Alt+Delete" keys at the same time.
-
-
If you wish to track network traffic and activity in Linux®, open a terminal, at the command line enter "sudo netstat -toucanp", then the Enter or Return Key. You will see a [PIDnumber/wallet] at the used location; however, it may use the IP address of [0.0.0.0].
